Ingredients:

  • 4 pork tenderloin slices
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles for serving

Instructions:

Season pork tenderloin slices with salt and black pepper

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with a mixture of beaten eggs and milk, and one with breadcrumbs

Dredge each pork tenderloin slice in the flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and coat with breadcrumbs, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the pork to adhere

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat

Fry the breaded pork tenderloin slices for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through

Transfer the fried pork tenderloin slices to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil

Toast the hamburger buns and assemble the sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and a fried pork tenderloin slice

Serve the Iowa Style Pork Tenderloin Sandwich hot, capturing the essence of this Midwest classic

Experience the deliciousness of a perfectly breaded and fried pork tenderloin!
